Intersolar Highlights


SolarPower Europe, the new EPIA, was the main partner of this year`s Intersolar Europe event which took place from 9-12 June in Munich, Germany.

Frauke Thies, Chief Policy Officer, delivered a speech at the Opening session and launched this years Global Market Outlook for Photovoltaics. During the event more than 1000 copies of the report were distributed.  A press conference followed the Opening session, where James Watson, CEO, presented the main findings to more than 20 journalists.

SolarPower Europe was also represented in other conference sessions, including Identifying New Ways to Take Financing Securization Forward Across Europe and Global PV Markets Europe.

The new SolarPower Europe brand was launched and our logo visibly displayed around the event, including on the busy SolarPower Europe booth.

SolarPower Europe also organised the Solar Bankability Summit, together with partners SunSpec Alliance. The event focused on quality and bankability aspects, presenting state-of-the-art practices. More than 100 participants discussed the challenges of the industry ™s commitment to improve performance and reliability. A lot of participants and other guests gathered at the SolarPower Europe drinks reception following the event, where debate continued in a relaxed atmosphere with plenty of networking opportunities.

Many members were also present and held events to promote solar and the activities they are doing.

On the Wednesday evening of Intersolar our members Jinko and Gunder held parties to celebrate the progress of solar power in Europe, we were delighted to be involved with them.
