Walburga is the Chief Executive Officer of SolarPower Europe. She is responsible for the overall performance of the association. Her previous experience includes her roles as Head of the EU Representation Office at VERBUND for nine years; Advisor of Financial and Capital Markets at The Association of German Public Banks and Association of Public Banks (VÖB / EAPB); Competition lawyer at Haarmann Hemmelrath; A Parliamentary Assistant to Austrian MEP and experience in the DG Competition Merger Control Task Force. Walburga has also been a Board Member of Hydrogen Europe.
Walburga holds a degree in Law and Business Administration from Leopold-Franzens Universität Innsbruck. She speaks German, English, Dutch and French .

Bruce is the Deputy CEO and Chief Operating Officer. He coordinates the RE-Source Platform and is Co-Chairman of the Global Solar Council. Additionally, he coordinates operations and business development activities to deliver maximum value to members and other key stakeholders in the solar power sector. His personal ambition is to accelerate the energy transition towards 100% renewable energy. Previously, Bruce was Managing Director at FliDAR offshore wind measurement company for 5 Years, and Chief Operating Officer at WindEurope for 10 Years. He holds an MSc in Renewable Energy Systems Technology and speaks English and French.

As Policy Director, Aurelie is in charge of developing and implementing the association’s political strategy and advocacy, with the support of SolarPower Europe’s Strategy Committee. She also manages the policy team and coordinates the deliverables of SolarPower Europe’s Taskforces, providing members with high-quality market intelligence and technology-focused reports, and events. Aurélie previously worked in the European energy sector for more than 6 years and has long-standing experience in public affairs. Prior to joining Solar Power Europe, she headed the European Affairs department of the French Union of Electricity (UFE) from 2012 to 2017. Aurelie has a Master Degree in Political Science, Sciences Po Bordeaux, and a Master Degree in Public Affairs and Advocacy, Sciences Po Bordeaux. She speaks French, English, Spanish and Italian.

Michael is Executive Advisor to the CEO and a member of the leadership team. Alongside his business development work, Michael heads SolarPower Europe’s award-winning market intelligence team. He is lead author of the annually published Global Market Outlook, and works closely with Raffaele operating the Solar & Storage task force, and is responsible for the content of the annual Digital Solar & Storage Conference. Michael has been working in solar for over 20 years. After co-founding Photon-Magazine in 1996, he served in various positions within the Photon group, primarily as Editor-in-Chief of Photon International. In 2014, Michael started MISCHCO, a company offering strategy consulting and communication services to solar companies. In 2016, TaiyangNews, a digital news platform for the solar industry that Michael founded, went online. Michael studied Geology/Palaeontology at Bonn University, Geology at RWTH Aachen, and Mineralogy at Frankfurt University. He speaks German and English.

Bilall is a member of the leadership team managing the financial aspects of the association, including financial strategies, European projects, human resources management, and membership. He previously managed his own internationally oriented accounting firm, offering tailored accounting and optimised tax consulting services to his clients within the Belgian context. Bilall studied at Chambre Belge des Comptables, Experts-Comptables et Conseils Fiscaux (2000-2004) and Institut Professionnel des Comptables et Fiscalistes Agréés (2014-2016). He speaks French, English and Dutch.

Kristina leads on external communications and is the contact point for press enquiries. She is also the campaign manager of the EU-China solar trade case. Before joining SolarPower Europe in 2015, Kristina worked in communications for the UN and represented the Norwegian Foreign Office Service in Athens. She holds a Master degree in Environment, Development & Policy from University of Sussex in England, and speaks Norwegian, English, Danish and Swedish.

Sonia leads SolarPower Europe’s work on corporate sourcing and the RE-Source Platform, digitalisation and supports on industrial competitiveness. She also works on business development.
Prior to joining SolarPower Europe Sonia spent two years working as Press and Communications Manager at the UK Solar Trade Association. Before that she spent five years working for Members of the European Parliament working on renewable energy and cross-border electricity interconnector policy.
Sonia holds a MSc in Public Policy and Public Administration (LSE) and speaks English, French, Italian and Dutch.

Mariano is in charge of the Renewable Energy Directive, Governance Regulation and Energy Efficiency Directive files. He also leads the BIPV task force and supports the corporate sourcing policy activities through the RE-Source platform. Mariano previously worked in European Affairs for the Spanish electric utility Iberdrola in Brussels and on Energy issues for the Trade Commission of the Embassy of Spain in the United States. Mariano holds an MBA in International Business Management from Menedes Pelayo International University (UIMP), as well as a Bachelor of Laws (B.B.L.) and Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) from the University of Murcia. In addition to his native Spanish, Mariano also speaks English and French.

Naomi is responsible for advocacy on the market design files of the Clean Energy Package, as well as following the Transport dossier, on which she coordinates SolarPower Europe’s contribution to the Platform for Electro-mobility. Naomi also leads the National Associations task force and contributes to the Solar Mobility, Solar and Storage, and the Solar and Digitalisation task force. Prior to joining SolarPower Europe, she worked for the French TSO RTE in Brussels on the Clean Energy Package. Naomi has a degree in International Affairs from Sciences Po Toulouse in France. As well as her native French, she speaks English, Spanish and German.

Raffaele works on market intelligence and data analysis for the Global Market Outlook. Additionally, he supports the Policy Team and is responsible for the Solar & Storage Task Force. Before joining SolarPower Europe, Raffaele worked at CSR Europe, focusing on the Sustainable Development Goals and the circular economy. He also has experience from the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission, working on climate adaptation finance. Raffaele comes from Padova, Italy, and holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Management and Policy from Lund University in Sweden and Bachelor’s degree in Business Economics from Ca’ Foscari University of Venice in Italy. Besides his native Italian, he speaks English, Spanish and Swedish.

Máté leads on Emerging Markets, Environmental Footprint and Operations & Maintenance. He is also the coordinator of SolarPower Europe’s input to EU-funded research projects. Before joining SolarPower Europe in February 2017, Máté spent four years in Tunisia, working as a Renewable Energy Advisor at the Tunisian Ministry of Energy, on behalf of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ). Máté holds a Master’s degree in International Relations from the Free University of Berlin and a Master’s degree in Economics from the Corvinus University of Budapest. Beyond his native Hungarian, he speaks English, German and French.

Meghann supports SolarPower Europe’s communications activities, including website, newsletter and social media. Meghann previously worked in corporate communications with Edelman.ergo in Frankfurt am Main. She has also worked as an English teacher in Madrid, Spain. Meghann has a Bachelor degree in Applied Languages at the University of Limerick, Ireland. Meghann speaks English, Spanish, French and German.

Daniel is responsible for the sales and marketing strategy from development to overseeing implementation on an operational level. He acts as the main point of contact for several key members, and is in charge of establishing and maintaining a consistent corporate image throughout all products and services, promotional materials, and events. Daniel previously worked as a Finance and Insurance Consultant at KBC and also held the position of Marketing Researcher at Burgas Airport. He holds a Master’s degree in Management Science from HEC Management School, gained a specialisation in Digital Marketing and Sales Management from the University of Liege, and has a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from the University of Economics Varna. He speaks Bulgarian and English.

Alex is the main point of contact with regards to sponsorship and advertisement opportunities, and general inquiries of SolarPower Europe’s many members. With international experience working in a variety of domains and fields, Alex has accrued skill sets from the IT industry, services industry, extensive volunteer work and beyond. He studied as École Stelly’s Secondary and speaks English and French.

Charlotte is in charge of creating, planning and executing multiple highly successful and globally-recognised events, webinars and other projects. As a dedicated professional, Charlotte contributes with her innovative insights and an eye for detail, to the success of SolarPower Europe. She has previously worked as a communications and event officer at a European industry association and before that at a EU funded organisation. Charlotte as a Belgian national speaks French, English, Spanish and Dutch. She has a bachelor in International Affairs, and holds a European Studies Master degree from the KU Leuven.

Lorena assists the Events Manager in the organisation of events and is in charge of the event marketing activities and is the main point of contact for event partnerships. She has previously worked in marketing and events at the Responsible Tourism Institute (RTI) and with marketing & E-commerce in the hotel industry. Lorena has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management & Administration from Universidad de La Laguna. She speaks English, Spanish, French, German, Italian.

Arianna supports SolarPower Europe’s Business Development Unit by organising and implementing all internal and external events. She has previously worked as an intern in Event and Office Management at the Federation of European Publishers and before that she worked in a Regional Representative office in Brussels. Arianna holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Science, Development and Cooperation at the University of Turin, Italy. Arianna speaks Italian, English, French and Spanish.

Michel is responsible for maintenance of the association’s ICT (Computers, mobile and phone, Windows servers, Linux servers, wired and WiFi intranet, ethernet, security, anti-Hacking procedure, backup), as well as design and maintenance of websites, photography and video works (shooting, production, montage). In addition, he is in charge of building maintenance, including fire and first aid standards, and for GDPR compliance. Michel previously held the positions of Secretariat at the FOREM; Accounting atAccounting Bureau Bataille André SPRL; and Communication/Edition at Mediaxis. He holds a Master of Engineering in Business (Ingénieur commercial Saint-Louis) and speaks French , Dutch and English.
