Framework for the development of supply side initiatives for solar in Europe.
After the successful scoping meeting of SolarPower Europe's industrial strategy task force at Intersolar Europe on 31st May, where we saw many industrial leaders, including representatives from Enel, Total, SMA, SolarWatt, Meyer Burger, Sonnen, Schmid, Weidmuller and many others all keen to join the discussion, we are reaching out to you to explain the next steps of this critical initiative.
As mentioned in the meeting, the European Commission is keen to launch a Clean Energy Industrial Forum before the end of this year and solar will be a key pillar of this Forum.
Our task force will provide the input into that process and will work with the European Commission to find the correct supply side policies to complement the market development policies they put forward in the Clean Energy for All package in November 2016.
We all agreed that there are specific policy tools that can make a difference to the overall competitiveness of the solar industry based in Europe. You can find additional information here.
As a next step we would like to invite you to a kick-off meeting of the Solar Industrial Strategy Task Force on 5th September at 12.30 pm in Brussels (SolarPower Europe office) that will:
discuss the concrete deliverables that an industrial strategy should have
update you on our findings about existing and new financing schemes
update you on potential export trade missions led by the Commission
share more information about the European Commission's initiative
discuss the task force structure
Please confirm your attendance by sending an email to Sonia Dunlop.
