Sub-Saharan Africa: leapfrogging dirty energy to go for solar

4 - 6 October 2016 - Birmingham, UK

SolarPower Europe and RECP session at Clean Energy Live / Solar Energy UK 2016

SolarPower Europe, in collaboration with the Africa-EU Renewable Energy Cooperation Programme (RECP) and support of Solar Media is hosting the Sub-Saharan Africa: leapfrogging dirty energy to go for solar on October 4 at 13:45.

The event will promote African solar markets and bring together the European and African solar industry with key market participants.

The potential of solar energy for the African continent cannot be overstated. In order to support Africa's continuing economic growth and sustainable development, generation capacity on the continent will have to quadruple by 2040. Solar, as a proven technology, will be critical on a continent that boasts twice the insolation of many traditional European markets. However, smart solutions and strong private investments are needed to achieve this goal.

The official part will be followed by an informal drinks reception at the Solar Business Theater.

Evolving from Solar Energy UK previous energy+ brand and 6-years of continuous show growth, this year show heralds an exciting new era where Solar Energy UK evolves into a broader exhibition Clean Energy Live, opening up new market segments and bringing whole building energy solutions and centralised to distributed energy to the mainstream.
The UKs solar and clean energy industries will meet this October at Birminghams NEC for Clean Energy Live / Solar Energy UK, Europes second largest B2B solar and storage event in the second half of the calendar year, where solar, energy storage and energy management connect.

Clean Energy Live will promote energy management products and innovation, and features a Clean Energy+ content theatre designed to showcase smart technology solutions for end-users.

At Clean Energy Live, solar and energy professionals will discover the latest about how solar, energy storage, and energy management can connect, delivering cost effective, low carbon solutions to the benefit of commercial and residential end-users.
