Europe's Future Jobs: The Potential of Solar

Potential for solar on employment and value with the right policy ambition.

SolarPower Europe and EY are organising Europe's Future Jobs: The Potential of Solar' which will be hosted by MEP Reinhard Butikofer and MEP Marijana Petir in the Members Salon OG of the European Parliament. The event will take place on 6 November from 12:00 - 14:00.

A keynote speech will be given by Dominique Ristori, Director-General of DG Energy at the European Commission. The preliminary agenda is available here.

Comments will also be given by: Dr Christian Westermeier, VP Sales, Marketing & Application Engineering, Wacker Chemie; Dries Acke, Head of the Energy Union Programme, ECF. In 2014 solar supported over 120,000 jobs and added over 6 billion to the European economy. This event will take stock of the situation in 2016 and estimate the number of jobs solar could provide by 2030, with the current renewable energy target of 27% and a more ambitious 35% target. The impact of trade measures on solar panels will also be revealed in terms of value and jobs.
