23 June 2016 - Room 14, Munich, Germany

The event will promote African solar markets and bring together the European and African solar industry with financiers and other key market participants.

SolarPower Europe hosted the On-Grid Solar Africa Investment Forum on June 23rd at Intersolar in Munich, Germany. The event promoted African solar markets and brought together the European and African solar industry with financiers and other key market participants.

The potential of solar energy for the African continent cannot be overstated. In order to support Africas continuing economic growth and sustainable development, generation capacity on the continent will have to quadruple by 2040. Solar as a proven technology with an indisputable track record will be critical on a continent that boasts twice the insolation of traditional European markets in many regions. However, smart solutions and strong private investments are needed to achieve this goal.
