Experts come to speak to members on digitalisation

By Sonia Dunlop, Policy Advisor

On Friday 21 April we had an excellent workshop with five different experts in various fields of digitalisation and energy where our members got the chance to ask in-depth questions and gather evidence as part of our Digitalisation & Solar Task Force. We spoke to Jesse Scott from the International Energy Agency, Alexander Vasylchenko from StromDAO, Luis Mariano Faiella from TenneT and Jean-Paul Krivine from the Smart Buildings Alliance and Camille Alleguede from Enedis. Two of the main takeaways being that transmission system operators often have very little information about the solar PV that is connected to the distribution grid in their areas and need more solar forecast data and that Blockchain technology is already creating a system in Germany where solar prosumers can invest in each other;s systems and sell excess electricity to each other. The slides from the meeting will be available soon here, get in touch with Sonia Dunlop if you would like to get involved.
