By Giorgia Concas, Senior Policy Advisor
The French energy regulator has just published the schedule for a new tender financing 100 - 500 kWp projects using renewable sources to generate electricity for own use. Up to 450 MWp capacity will be financially supported throughout 9 application periods. The first period will start on 4 September 2017 and the ninth period will close on 18 May 2020. This is a technology-neutral tender. As for PV, only installations on buildings and on parking sheds and with up to 750 kgCO2/kWp carbon footprint will be eligible.
According to its multi-annual investment plan until the year 2023, France intends to reach a total PV installed capacity of between 18.2 and 20.2 GW by the end of 2023. At the end of 2016, more than 6.7 GW PV were connected to the grid.
