Press and Communications Advisor

We are looking for a highly motivated early-career professional to grow with us, and to help take our press and communications campaigns to the next level.

SolarPower Europe, based in Brussels, is recruiting a Press and Communications Advisor to support our external communications. SolarPower Europe is a member-led association representing more than 250 companies and organisations across the solar value chain. Our mission is to ensure more energy is generated from solar than any other energy source by 2030.

 

SolarPower Europe is a leading association in energy and climate policy, named ‘Best Overall European Association’ at the European Association Awards 2019 and ranked number 2 on InfluenceMap for climate and energy advocacy. We have a great story to tell: through our award-winning market intelligence, innovative communications campaigns, and renowned events, we aim to support the energy transition and help facilitate the European Green Deal.

At this critical time for Europe, communications are more important than ever before. We are looking for a highly motivated early-career professional to grow with us, and to help take our press and communications campaigns to the next level.  

 

Key tasks include:

 

Press & media:

Draft and develop press releases, op-eds, and FAQs

Support in responding quickly and efficiently to media enquiries

Build relationships with key EU, national, and trade journalists

Develop new and innovative ways of getting our story out, while providing strategic media advice to team and management

Build media lists and monitor media coverage and profile on social media, with the aim of increasing our impact

Support weekly communications planning and scheduling

 

Campaigns: 

Identify new opportunities for communications campaign and partnerships 

Participate and engage in, as well as monitor communications campaigns

Support coordination of pan-European communications campaign 

Coordinate media campaigns with a range of stakeholders

 

Profile

Excellent command of English; native-level English speakers will be considered in priority

Passion for communications and renewable energy

Experience and understanding of with media and press, desirable 

Strong writing and communications ability

A flair for creative thinking 

An introductory understanding of the EU legislative process and relevant policy files (e.g. Solar Strategy, REPowerEU, Green Deal)

Excited to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, and multicultural association

Excellent organisational skills, flexibility, responsibility

High attention to detail

Ability to work independently and remotely, as well as in a team
