SolarPower Europe is a member-led association representing the European solar PV sector. SolarPower Europe’s aim is to ensure that more energy is generated by solar than any other energy source by 2030 and lead our members to make solar the core of a smart, sustainable and inclusive energy system. We are an award-winning association and have over 260 members spanning 35 countries. We aim to produce thought-leading energy market analysis and support the business of our members through creative and successful advocacy campaigns.
As part of the Policy team, you will be involved in our work related to solar PV product sustainability under different angles. With the guidance of our friendly and dynamic team, you will contribute to the success of our projects and advocacy activities.
Job description:
- Act as the contact point representing SolarPower Europe in EU projects on PV sustainability, more specifically on Ecodesign regulation compliance and PV circularity, liaising with external organisations and ensuring a successful delivery of projects. SolarPower Europe’s involvement in EU projects will include the following tasks:
1. Understanding and identifying industry needs and mapping available information;
2. Reviewing and validating deliverables developed by consortium partners, and producing original content;
3. Designing and implementing integrated strategies for communication and dissemination of project deliverables among multiple stakeholder groups;
4. Coordinating the involvement of other SPE team members for delivery of specific projects tasks and deliverables;
- Support SolarPower Europe’s Policy team and other departments in relevant sustainability-related activities and in the publication of expert reports and other deliverables;
- Contribute to the content of SolarPower Europe’s communication channels such as the newsletter, social media, website;
- Contribute to SolarPower Europe’s business development and member recruitment and retention;
- Organise webinars, workshops and other events in collaboration with SolarPower Europe’s Events team;
- Performing any other tasks or duties required as applicable.
Profile:
- Masters’ Degree in a relevant discipline such as Renewable Energy, Sustainability, EU Affairs, International Relations, Political Science, Economics, or similar;
- At least 1 year of demonstrated work experience in the field of renewable energy, sustainability, EU policy, or similar;
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience on specific sustainability topics including EU Ecodesign, Green Public Procurement, standardisation processes, product compliance, WEEE Directive, REACH, end-of-life management and recycling is considered a key asset for this position;
- Basic understanding of solar PV or renewable energy sector in the EU and at the global level: key players, drivers, barriers, challenges and trends;
- Good understanding of EU policymaking process; previous work experience in EU institutions is a strong plus;
- Experience working on or coordinating EU projects is desirable;
- Excellent communication skills, experience with social media and other distribution channels, and strong command of English – written and oral; additional EU languages are a plus;
- Team player with flexibility to work in a dynamic and multicultural team with high interaction across different departments.
