Walburga is the Chief Executive Officer of SolarPower Europe. She is responsible for the overall performance of the association. Her previous experience includes her roles as Head of the EU Representation Office at VERBUND for nine years; Advisor of Financial and Capital Markets at The Association of German Public Banks and Association of Public Banks (VÖB / EAPB); Competition lawyer at Haarmann Hemmelrath; A Parliamentary Assistant to Austrian MEP and experience in the DG Competition Merger Control Task Force. Walburga has also been a Board Member of Hydrogen Europe.
Walburga holds a degree in Law and Business Administration from Leopold-Franzens Universität Innsbruck. She speaks German, English, Dutch and French.

Bruce is the Deputy CEO and Chief Operating Officer. He coordinates the RE-Source Platform and is Co-Chairman of the Global Solar Council. Additionally, he coordinates operations and business development activities to deliver maximum value to members and other key stakeholders in the solar power sector. His personal ambition is to accelerate the energy transition towards 100% renewable energy. Previously, Bruce was Managing Director at FliDAR offshore wind measurement company for 5 Years, and Chief Operating Officer at WindEurope for 10 Years. He holds an MSc in Renewable Energy Systems Technology and speaks English and French.

As Policy Director, Aurelie is in charge of developing and implementing the association’s political strategy and advocacy, with the support of SolarPower Europe’s Strategy Committee. She also manages the policy team and coordinates the deliverables of SolarPower Europe’s Taskforces, providing members with high-quality market intelligence and technology-focused reports, and events. Aurélie previously worked in the European energy sector for more than 6 years and has long-standing experience in public affairs. Prior to joining Solar Power Europe, she headed the European Affairs department of the French Union of Electricity (UFE) from 2012 to 2017. Aurelie has a Master Degree in Political Science, Sciences Po Bordeaux, and a Master Degree in Public Affairs and Advocacy, Sciences Po Bordeaux. She speaks French, English, Spanish and Italian.

Michael is Executive Advisor to the CEO and a member of the leadership team. Alongside his business development work, Michael heads SolarPower Europe’s award-winning market intelligence team. He is lead author of the annually published Global Market Outlook, and works closely with Policy Analyst Raffaele operating the Solar & Storage Task Force, and is responsible for the content of the annual Digital Solar & Storage Conference. Michael has been working in solar for over 20 years. After co-founding Photon-Magazine in 1996, he served in various positions within the Photon group, primarily as Editor-in-Chief of Photon International. In 2014, Michael started MISCHCO, a company offering strategy consulting and communication services to solar companies. In 2016, TaiyangNews, a digital news platform for the solar industry that Michael founded, went online. Michael studied Geology/Palaeontology at Bonn University, Geology at RWTH Aachen, and Mineralogy at Frankfurt University. He speaks German and English.

Judy is the Chief Financial Officer at SolarPower Europe, a member of the leadership team managing the financial aspects of the association, in addition to human resources and administration management. She previously co-managed her own consultancy firm for international associations and most recently sat on the senior management team for a Brussels-based international organisation as Director of Finance, Administration and HR. Her career was initially built in the pharmaceutical industry spanning across the US and Europe. She studied finance in the US and holds a BA from Greenville University. Judy speaks English and French.

Kristina is responsible for SolarPower Europe’s external communications. Before joining SolarPower Europe in 2015, Kristina worked in communications for the UN and represented the Norwegian Foreign Office Service in Athens. She holds a Master degree in Environment, Development & Policy from University of Sussex in England, and speaks Norwegian, Danish, Swedish and English.

Máté leads on Emerging Markets, Operation & Maintenance and Asset Management. He is also the coordinator of SolarPower Europe’s international cooperation projects. Before joining SolarPower Europe in February 2017, Máté spent four years in Tunisia working as a Renewable Energy Advisor at the Tunisian Ministry of Energy on behalf of the German Development Cooperation (GIZ). Máté holds a Master’s degree in International Relations from the Free University of Berlin and a Master’s degree in Economics from the Corvinus University of Budapest. Beyond his native Hungarian, he speaks English, German and French.
Dr. Mercè Labordena

Mercè is the Senior Policy Advisor for Solar Digitalisation and Corporate Sourcing of Renewable Energy. She is responsible for running the Digitalisation & Solar Task Force and delivering business-relevant services to members. She also coordinates with stakeholders and other associations within the RE-Source Platform to promote corporate sourcing of renewable energy in Europe. Before joining SolarPower Europe, Mercè led projects at the Climate Policy Group at ETH Zurich on strategies to increase the rate of investment into solar power. Mercè has a PhD in Climate Policy from ETH Zurich, and a Double Degree MSc in Renewable Energy, with a specialisation in Energy Innovation and Energy Engineering. Beyond her native Spanish and Catalan, she speaks English, French, Italian and German.

Naomi is responsible for advocacy on the market design files of the Clean Energy Package, as well as following the Transport dossier, on which she coordinates SolarPower Europe’s contribution to the Platform for Electro-mobility. Naomi also leads the National Associations task force and contributes to the Solar Mobility, Solar & Storage, and Digitalisation & Solar Task Forces. Prior to joining SolarPower Europe, she worked for the French TSO RTE in Brussels on the Clean Energy Package. Naomi has a degree in International Affairs from Sciences Po Toulouse in France. As well as her native French, she speaks English, Spanish and German.

Raffaele works on market intelligence and data analysis for the Global Market Outlook. Additionally, he supports the Policy Team and is responsible for the Solar & Storage Task Force. Before joining SolarPower Europe, Raffaele worked at CSR Europe, focusing on the Sustainable Development Goals and the circular economy. He also has experience from the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission, working on climate adaptation finance. Raffaele comes from Padova, Italy, and holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Management and Policy from Lund University in Sweden and Bachelor’s degree in Business Economics from Ca’ Foscari University of Venice in Italy. Besides his native Italian, he speaks English, Spanish and Swedish.

Miguel is the Policy Advisor for Building-Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV) and leads the BIPV and Solar Electrification Task Forces. Miguel also monitors developments in the Energy Performance of Buildings and the Energy Efficiency Directives, leading SolarPower Europe’s advocacy on these files. Before joining SolarPower Europe he worked as a trainee in the cabinet of the Commissioner for Climate Action and Energy, Miguel Arias Cañete. He also has experience in the development of power projects in emerging markets. Miguel holds a BA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the University of East Anglia (UEA) and an MSc in Global Governance and Ethics from University College London (UCL). He is fluent in English, French and Spanish.

Meghann previously worked in corporate communications with Edelman.ergo in Frankfurt am Main. She has also worked as an English teacher in Madrid, Spain. Lukas is Press and Communications Advisor, responsible for coordinating with press and media, developing communications campaigns, and producing content for SolarPower Europe’s website and the wider press. Prior to joining SolarPower Europe, Lukas worked for the International Association of Public Transport (UITP) in Brussels, the UN in Santiago, and as a teaching assistant at the University of Otago in New Zealand. He has also written for a number of publications, on issues ranging from transport, to music, to politics. Lukas has a BA (Hons) in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics from the University of Otago, and an MPhil in Political Theory from the University of Oxford. He speaks English and Spanish.

Anja supports the Head of International Cooperation in the lead on SolarPower Europe’s activities in emerging markets, especially in the coordination of the Emerging Market Task Force as well as various international projects. Anja has experience in the field of international development cooperation through consulting work for joyn-coop GbR, as well as two traineeships with the German Development Cooperation (GIZ) in Germany and Madagascar. Anja has a BA in International Studies and MA in International Relations specialising in Global Political Economy. Anja speaks German, English, French and Spanish.

Daniel is responsible for the sales and marketing strategy from development to overseeing implementation on an operational level. He acts as the main point of contact for several key members, and is in charge of establishing and maintaining a consistent corporate image throughout all products and services, promotional materials, and events. Daniel previously worked as a Finance and Insurance Consultant at KBC and also held the position of Marketing Researcher at Burgas Airport. He holds a Master’s degree in Management Science from HEC Management School, gained a specialisation in Digital Marketing and Sales Management from the University of Liege, and has a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from the University of Economics Varna. He speaks Bulgarian and English.

With international experience working in a variety of domains and fields, Alex has accrued skill sets from the IT industry, services industry, extensive volunteer work and beyond. Lluís assists the business development team department by supporting new membership and sponsorship acquisition, alongside carrying out market research. He has previously worked as a salesperson and manager in a real estate agency. Moreover, he complemented his professional experience by having worked as a Real Estate Counsellor in the Netherlands. Lluís holds a BA in Business Administration from the University of Barcelona and has also specialised in European Public Policy & Administration in the University of Maastricht. Charlotte is in charge of creating, planning and executing multiple highly successful and globally-recognised events, webinars and other projects. As a dedicated professional, Charlotte contributes with her innovative insights and an eye for detail, to the success of SolarPower Europe. She has previously worked as a communications and event officer at a European industry association and before that at a EU funded organisation. Charlotte as a Belgian national speaks French, English, Spanish and Dutch. She has a bachelor in International Affairs, and holds a European Studies Master degree from the KU Leuven.

Arianna supports SolarPower Europe’s Business Development Unit by organising and implementing all internal and external events. She has previously worked as an intern in Event and Office Management at the Federation of European Publishers and before that she worked in a Regional Representative office in Brussels. Arianna holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Science, Development and Cooperation at the University of Turin, Italy. Arianna speaks Italian, English, French and Spanish.

Michel is responsible for maintenance of the association’s ICT (Computers, mobile and phone, Windows servers, Linux servers, wired and WiFi intranet, ethernet, security, anti-Hacking procedure, backup), as well as design and maintenance of websites, photography and video works (shooting, production, montage). In addition, he is in charge of building maintenance, including fire and first aid standards, and for GDPR compliance. Michel previously held the positions of Secretariat at the FOREM; Accounting at Accounting Bureau Bataille André SPRL; and Communication/Edition at Mediaxis. He holds a Master of Engineering in Business (Ingénieur commercial Saint-Louis) and speaks French, Dutch and English.

Juan Carlos assists SolarPower Europe’s finance department. He previously worked as an EMEA Corporate Accounting Trainee at Radisson Hospitality Belgium. He has also worked as a Micro-Credit Analyst at Banco Mundo Mujer in Bogotá, Colombia. Juan Carlos has an MA in International Business from Vrije Universiteit Brussel and a BA in Finance and International Business at Fundación Universitaria San Martin, Bogotá, Colombia. Juan Carlos speaks Spanish, English and French.
