This year at the SolarPower Summit, three awards will be given to solar leaders in innovation, gender equality, and sustainability. Applications are still open for each award, with finalists announced the first week of May, and voting for the winner happening during the Summit: 10–12 May.
The Solar Startup Award celebrates companies that are spearheading solar innovations. While the challenges of the energy transition are manifold, so are the solutions. For the fourth year in a row, SolarPower Europe is looking for the world’s brightest solar business ideas. Learn more and apply.
The Solar Gender Champion Award recognises outstanding work on gender equality in the solar workplace. The solar market is growing considerably, and so are its job opportunities. Whereas the renewables sector in general, and solar in particular, employ significantly more women than traditional energy sectors, there is the need to further improve, to create a gender and diversity balance and a sense of inclusivity of all talent, irrespective of gender at all levels of the organisation. The Solar Gender Champion Award aims to bring visibility to the importance of gender balance, support the substantial efforts that are still needed for a more diverse workforce, and highlight great examples to increase gender balance within an organisation. The Solar Sustainability Award is dedicated to companies making an exceptional effort towards sustainability in solar. Poised to become the backbone of Europe’s energy transition, solar PV technology is proving its ability to support the reduction of our environmental impacts in many different forms. The Solar Sustainability Award will recognise top sustainability performers for their use of solar energy to reduce their environmental footprint. Learn more and apply.
