Belgian Solar Day 2026: Securing the future with solar energy

Brussels, Belgium

Organized by the Becquerel Institute, ODE Vlaanderen and EDORA, this day will bring together all players in the solar sector—companies, policy makers, investors, researchers, installers, and developers—for a day of discussions, debates, and networking around the future of Belgian and European photovoltaics.

On 13 January 2026, ODE and Edora, together with Becquerel Institute, will organise Belgian Solar Day. The previous edition brought together more than 200 professionals from the sector.

The 2026 edition ‘Securing the future with solar’ will revolve around the interaction between energy security and solar, explored in all its dimensions — from grid resilience and cybersecurity to homegrown technologies, supply chain challenges, and SO flex solutions.

Topics to be covered:

  • How can PV and storage strengthen energy security in an increasingly electrified world?

  • What opportunities and challenges does the current investment and policy climate offer for solar energy and storage in Belgium and Europe?

  • How can we build local, sustainable and competitive ecosystems for PV and storage technologies?

  • What is needed to develop resilient and future-proof grids? How can we integrate solar energy and storage into the electricity systems of tomorrow?

  • How can we protect PV and storage against threats such as cyber-attacks, blackouts and grid congestion, and what role can the sector play in this?

The Belgian Solar Day will take place on the 13 January in Brussels.
