Powering Ukraine’s recovery through solar PV and battery storage, and fostering opportunities for EU companies
Online
As explained in a SolarPower Europe-Greenpeace Ukraine joint position paper (launched in May 2026), for Ukraine, solar PV combined with battery energy storage systems (BESS) is more than an energy transition solution, it is a strategic pillar for the recovery of the country.
By enabling faster deployment, decentralised and resilient generation, and greater protection against supply disruptions, solar PV+BESS will strengthen Ukraine’s energy independence while creating new investment opportunities, business models, supporting local communities, and contributing to long-term economic growth.
This webinar will provide an overview of the current solar PV and BESS investment landscape in Ukraine. It will bring together Ukrainian industry representatives, policymakers, EU Institutions, and civil society to discuss market needs, regulatory developments, investment opportunities and practical pathways for cooperation.
Key topics and objectives:
• Present Ukraine’s current solar PV and BESS market outlook and investment needs.
• Highlight the key role of solar PV and BESS in Ukraine’s energy security and recovery of the country.
• Discuss the policy and regulatory framework for renewable energy and storage investments.
• Explore opportunities for EU companies, including project development, technology supply, partnerships and financing.
• Share concrete perspectives from Ukrainian stakeholders working on energy resilience, community-level projects and recovery.
• Identify possible next steps for EU-Ukrainian cooperation in solar PV and BESS.
