SolarStorage Italy

Bologna, Italy

This event will explore the critical role of flexibility and demand response within the new regulatory framework, highlighting how these mechanisms are reshaping electricity markets and enabling higher renewable penetration.

As part of the Let’s Flex campaign, led by SolarPower Europe, we are organising a high-level event in collaboration with Italia Solare dedicated to the evolving role of flexibility in Europe’s energy transition.

This event will explore the critical role of flexibility and demand response within the new regulatory framework, highlighting how these mechanisms are reshaping electricity markets and enabling higher renewable penetration.

Special attention will be given to the business models and bankability of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), particularly in light of the upcoming MACSE auction and its implications for investors and market participants.

In addition, the discussion will address the promotion of smart and energy-efficient buildings as key enablers of system flexibility, empowering consumers to actively participate in the energy market while enhancing grid stability.

Bringing together policymakers, industry leaders, financial stakeholders and technical experts, the event aims to provide practical insights, foster dialogue and accelerate the deployment of flexible, resilient and sustainable energy solutions across Europe.
