New podcast series: Solar Success in Africa

SolarPower Europe are pleased to announce season 2 of our popular podcast series Solar Success in Africa.

The new 4-episode series will explore the stories of different solar companies who have successfully brought solar electricity to Sub-Saharan Africa. In each episode, listeners will hear about unique opportunities and challenges that exist in the untapped potential of African solar market.

Guests in this series include:

In the first episode, which you can listen to here, Josef Abramowitz, CEO and founder of Gigawatt Global Coöperatief U.A. discusses the potential for solar in Sub-Saharan Africa, financing and support instruments, and the many inspiring solar projects that Gigawatt Global has in the pipeline.

In the second episode in this series, we hear from Francine Munyaneza, Founder and CEO of Munyax Eco, a Rwandan solar company. We discuss the challenges and opportunities of founding a renewable energy company in Africa, access to financing, and the future of solar in the region.

This podcast series was developed in cooperation with GET.invest, a European programme supported by the European Union, Germany, Sweden, the Netherlands, and Austria, which mobilises investments in decentralised renewable energy.
