Solar is one of the most equitably distributed energy resources in the world. All countries in the world have access to sunlight regardless of population, land or economic wealth. Being one of the cheapest sources of electricity, solar can significantly contribute to the socio-economic development of developing countries and in particular Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 7 “Universal access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy by 2030” and SDG 13 “Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts”.
