SolarPower Summit 2022

Brussels, Belgium

As the devastating Russian war on Ukraine unfolds, the huge ramifications on European energy policy are being brought into focus. The European Union can only fully support Ukrainian resistance by entirely divesting from Russian fossil-fuels: energy policy is security policy. We know now, more than ever, that the security and prosperity of Europe depends on rapidly accelerating the renewable transition.

Solar is offering rapid solutions to some of our most pressing issues; it can support energy security, reduce Europeans record-high energy bills, and mitigate the looming threat of climate change. European solar can deploy 39 GW by the end of 2022 to tackle the twin climate and energy security challenges we’re facing.

Beyond this year, the real solar acceleration needs to happen throughout the decade.  In less than ten years, solar power has already transformed into the energy solution with the lowest costs and highest flexibility. Innovators are expanding the capabilities of solar technology every day. Manufacturing is making its way back to Europe. Adding more than 100 GW of solar capacity, per year, is within reach for the continent.

The Summit seeks to answer: How can we reach Terawatt scale solar in Europe by 2030?

The SolarPower Summit is SolarPower Europe’s annual flagship event. It brings together 300 industry representatives from all major energy players, as well as SMEs and a range of decision-makers from across the EU and beyond, and beyond and is recognised as one of the most important energy events in Brussels.
