The SolarPower Summit comes at a particularly timely moment. The European Commission has just launched the AccelerateEU emergency toolbox, offering swift support to tackle rising energy costs and reduce our dependence on fossil fuels. This package puts renewable electrification at the centre of the EU’s crisis response, with new targets, including 200 GW of battery storage by 2030. It’s a positive signal, showing that Europe is ready to accelerate its transition and invest in solutions that protect both our economy and the environment. For the first time, the SolarPower Summit will host a dedicated Battery Storage Day on Day 2, with 5 deep-dive sessions on everything from the market outlook for BESS, to investment barriers, new technologies, sustainability, and stories from EU Member States.
