See you at the SolarPower Summit?

by Walburga Hemetsberger - 29 April 2026
We’re counting down the days to our flagship event, the SolarPower Summit: Solar+, taking place in less than one week in the heart of Brussels at the Théatre National Wallonie-Bruxelles. It will be a fantastic event!

Over two days, more than 500 industry leaders and policymakers will gather for high-impact insights, data, and to make connections that matter. There’s a stellar line-up of speakers, including a special opening video message from President Ursula von der Leyen, and keynote addresses from EU Commissioner for Energy and Housing, Dan Jørgensen, and EU Commissioner for Climate, Net Zero and Clean Growth, Wopke Hoekstra. This is your chance to be part of the conversation - don’t miss out, last tickets are still available!

During the Summit we will launch our brand-new report, Solar+: An EU pathway to achieve renewable targets, price affordability, and energy security. The findings are clear: solar, combined with storage and flexible solutions, is making a real difference for Europe’s security and competitiveness. The report follows our latest analysis published earlier this month, showing how solar PV, combined with storage and other flexibility solutions, can act as a powerful buffer for EU citizens and businesses by reducing energy price volatility and import dependence. Make sure you’re in the audience to get an exclusive insight into the latest figures. You can also check our website homepage for the latest daily cost-saving figures.

The SolarPower Summit comes at a particularly timely moment. The European Commission has just launched the AccelerateEU emergency toolbox, offering swift support to tackle rising energy costs and reduce our dependence on fossil fuels. This package puts renewable electrification at the centre of the EU’s crisis response, with new targets, including 200 GW of battery storage by 2030. It’s a positive signal, showing that Europe is ready to accelerate its transition and invest in solutions that protect both our economy and the environment. Join us at the Summit to unpack AccelerateEU in more detail.

For the first time, the SolarPower Summit will host a dedicated Battery Storage Day on Day 2, with 5 deep-dive sessions on everything from the market outlook for BESS, to investment barriers, new technologies, sustainability, and stories from EU Member States.

Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank our former President, Aristotelis Chantavas, for his outstanding support and dedication to SolarPower Europe over the past five years, as he embarks on a new professional chapter. I would also like to thank the outgoing Chair and Vice-Chair of SolarPower Europe’s National Associations Committee, José Donoso (UNEF) and Nikola Gazdov (APSTE), for their valuable contributions and commitment.

In case you missed it, we have recently welcomed the new Head of the Battery Storage Europe Platform, Sonja Risteska, who brings 15+ years of experience in the energy sector, spanning policy, non-profit, intergovernmental, and private sector roles. Meet Sonja at the SolarPower Summit or get in touch with her for all things battery storage related.

It’s time to enter the Solar+ era! See you at the SolarPower Summit.
