Electrification Alliance

European energy in European homes, industry and transport is Europe’s fastest path to independence, competitiveness, and climate goals.

E-Mobility Europe, the European Heat Pump Association (EHPA), Eurelectric, the European Electrical Contractors Association (EuropeOn), the International Copper Association Europe (ICA Europe), the Renewables Grid Initiative (RGI), Smart Energy Europe (smartEn), SolarPower Europe, Transport & Environment (T&E), and WindEurope, joined forces to launch the Electrification Alliance, advocating for smart and renewable-based electrification.

The European Commission is set to publish an Electrification Action Plan in early 2026, which will aim to accelerate electrification across EU transport, industry and buildings, setting a 32% electrification target of final energy use across the EU by 2030.

The Electrification Alliance is calling for greater ambition to achieve this goal.

“Electrification means European energy for European homes and industry. It means energy security. It means we invest in ourselves rather than those who would do us harm. It means fewer emissions, more jobs and more control of our destiny. It is Europe’s make or break challenge of the next decade. Europe has done the hard work to get to a tipping point on electrification and it is time to reap the benefits.”

Adrian Hiel

Director of the Electrification Alliance
