Renewables, and in particular solar energy, are our best allies in fighting climate change, increasing our energy security and empowering citizens. On the top of this energy transition, Europe is facing another revolution: digitalisation of society and the growing importance of data management.

With three quarters of the European population living in urban areas, cities and local communities have an important untapped potential for both solar energy and digitalisation. To succeed in this transition, cities have the challenge to embrace the change in a way that will foster public good and get more connected to these new tools.
