Meet the SolarPower Europe Team

Amalia is our Communications Campaign Advisor, responsible for the creation and execution of our campaigns which raise awareness and engage people to take control of their energy future. Check out the Solar Saves campaign and European Solar Day

Prior to joining SolarPower Europe, Amalia worked for ActionAid Zimbabwe, documenting the country programme work while visiting communities directly impacted by climate change as well as conducting research on the impact of granite mining on human rights and the environment. Previously she worked for the World Fair Trade Organization, planning and executing communications campaigns on corporate accountability and gender equality. She holds an MA degree in Development Studies from the Institute of Development Studies at the University of Sussex, UK.

Amalia is Greek and speaks Greek, English and some French too!

What do you love most about working at SolarPower Europe?

Being able to witness people joining the solar revolution and driving the energy transition forward. If we are to achieve our ambitious climate targets, we need everyone on board!

What has been your favourite professional memory so far?

Last June, when we kicked off the European Solar Day!

European Solar Day is a collective day of action to be celebrated every 21st of June, which happens to be the longest day of the year! The goal is to shine a spotlight on the potential of solar energy and harness its power to drive positive action together.

What is your one wish for solar?

Making solar accessible and understandable for everyone!

By democratising access to solar and empowering communities with the knowledge and tools to participate in and benefit from it, we can build a more equitable future and accelerate the energy transition.
