Meet the team: Rozelien Callaerts

Rozelien is our Human Resources Officer handling a wide variety of responsibilities, ranging from recruiting the right candidates for open positions, to developing a new Learning & Development programme, improving, and translating HR policies into comprehensible action plans, and launching health and wellbeing initiatives (to name a few).
Prior to joining SolarPower Europe, Rozelien worked as a somatic psychotherapist in psychosocial rehabilitation centers, psychiatric hospitals and private practices. Before that she worked in communications and administration for both profit and nonprofit organisations. Rozelien holds a triple Master’s degree in History of Art, Cultural Management and Arts Therapies. She speaks fluent Dutch, English, as well as French and Spanish at an upper-intermediate level and a bit of German!
There are several reasons why I love working at SolarPower Europe: There is lots of room for learning and professional growth, taking initiative, and autonomous working. The small size of the organisation coupled with a relatively horizontal structure allows me to co-shape and expand my responsibilities. And last but not least, working with a talented and mission-driven team is very motivating and rewarding.
I started working for SolarPower Europe 6 months ago.
The learning curve was steep, the expectations high and the list of responsibilities challenging. I worked hard to reach the required standard and to meet my own (high) expectations. A few months later, at the annual Christmas event, I was granted a social media award for best newcomer. It came as a complete surprise to me! This is what characterises SolarPower Europe: We celebrate the work of others.
